Larisa Dahabi
started out her dance journey at the tender age of four. By the age of thirteen,
she decided that dance ran through her veins and this would become her lifes dream.
It was then that she started her serious ballet training with Diana Turner Hauser from Academy of Ballet Arts who gently
guided her and showed her the world of ballet. At sixteen, she auditioned with
School of American Ballet in New York City and studied there for 2 years. After high school, she joined the New Jersey Ballet and danced with the company for
three years, performing in ballets such as Nutcracker, Carmina Burana, Graduation Ball, Donizetti, just to name a few. Feeling the need to experience more, she
began a grand tour starting from Las Vegas, in Latino Royal 85. When that contract
was over, her dream lead her to the seas with Royal Caribbean on The Song of
America in Caribbean capers. From there, a short stop in Curacoa, Netherland
Antilles in a show called Touche. Atlantic City was the next stop as a feature
performer at Trump Plaza in Toast of the Town, a take-off from the old Ed Sullivan Show and another in Hot Flash Review in
Wildwood, New Jersey, venturing yet to another area; musical theatre. She performed in My Fair Lady with the Michigan Opera Theatre where not only did she dance but now experienced
singing and acting on stage. After that, she studied acting and voice more
intensely and got various acting positions in New York. It was then that she
met her husband and started her family. After eight years as office manager
with a growing medical practice, she took a break from the work force to have her third child and settled here in the Charleston
area, ready to begin a new path and give a little of what she fell in love with at four, back to the community as owner and
instructor of a dance studio Mount Pleasant School of Performing Arts, located at National Crossing in Mount Pleasant.
