Mt. Pleasant
Performing Arts Company, Inc. aka MPPAC, was founded by Larisa Dahabi in August
of 2005 to create a caring and nurturing environment where students can grow and learn about the
dance profession. In an effort to further the mission of arts education and expand performance opportunities MPPAC
has been established as a 501 (c)3 non-profit corporation financially separate from Mt. Pleasant School of Performing Arts
which is home for MPPAC.
MPPAC is a
pre-professional dance company, promoting the importance of commitment and determination, in a non-competitive atmosphere,
wishing to build happy memories that last a lifetime. The company consists of approximately 20 members ranging from ages 8
through adults and all have been trained at Mt. Pleasant School of Performing Arts.
We strive to
bring to the Low Country the art of dance with performances throughout the year. Larisa
Dahabi uses her extensive professional background in dance and theatre to bring these arts to our children and the community.
As the company’s artistic director and choreographer, she has directed and choreographed the following performances
for our dance company over the past several years - West Side Story, The Nutcracker,
Etudes, Coppelia and just recently A Mixed Bill, featuring music from Faust, Josh Groban and Michael Buble’. Upcoming events are already in the making and will include an annual performance of The Nutcracker in December.
MPPAC cannot
thrive without the generous support of our community through sponsorships and donations.
If you would like to be a supporter of this young dance company here in the Low Country, please call 971-7880 or email
mpspa@comcast.net All donations are tax deductible. There are many items that are needed to help support our dance company and the following
is a wish list that would certainly be greatly appreciated:
Copy machine
that is able to fold, collate and staple.
Fax machine
Old fashioned
party dresses and crinolines for The Nutcracker party scene.
Victorian style
couch
